Current walking frames are inadequate. Physiotherapists want users to practice moving diagonally and backward, which Glydesafe® offers.
In addition to being challenging and potentially unsafe, traditional walking frames, (often with two castor wheels in front) only enable users to move forward in a straight line. The manoeuvrability of these traditional walkers is also hindered by the dragging effect of the rubber tips on their hind legs.
